PhiBoard has a new section: Exams. It holds a mock Polish eighth-grade exam and a mock Matura in mathematics at the basic level. For now, the exams are available in Polish only.

You can take each paper in two ways: print it (or download it as a PDF) or solve it online, with a timer and your result at the end. Every paper comes with an answer key and marking rules, and there are A and B versions. You get different problems each time, so you can practise as often as you like.

These are our own papers, modelled on the exams set by Poland’s Central Examination Board (CKE) - they are not official CKE material. The section is free and needs no account.

PhiBoard is now on Google Play!

The PhiBoard app is now on Google Play. From today you can open your boards on an Android phone and tablet.

It is the same board you know from the browser, adapted to touch and to a smaller screen. Saved boards appear on every device, so a lesson can start on a computer and finish on a tablet.

The app is also on the App Store, so PhiBoard now runs on iPhone, iPad and Android. Search for "PhiBoard" in the store or tap the store badge on our home page.

Exercises on the board, a formula sheet and curriculum-based courses

The board has three new tools:

- Exercises. Pick a topic and a set of exercises lands on the board, with answers you can reveal. A different set every time. - Formula sheet. The key formulas always at hand, even mid-lesson. - Pasting images. Paste a screenshot or a photo straight onto the board.

The knowledge base also has new courses following the national curriculum for years 4-8 and secondary school, together with practice exercises. We keep updating and expanding both the courses and the exercises.

Voice chat on the board

We added a new feature to PhiBoard: voice chat. From now on you can talk to each other while working on the board, without opening a separate messenger alongside it.

It works simply. The person who created the board opens the call, and the others join with one click. Three people can talk at once. The audio is sent directly between browsers, so we do not record it and have no access to it.

The feature works in both the browser version and the mobile apps!

If nobody can hear you after joining, it is usually enough to allow your browser to use the microphone and reload the page. Let us know how it works for you - your feedback helps us polish it.

PhiBoard is, and will remain, completely free - with no ads, paid tier, or limits on boards.

Running the project still involves costs, such as servers, the domain, and app-store developer accounts. That is why we offer a way to support PhiBoard voluntarily.

PhiBoard is now on the App Store

We released the mobile app on the App Store. From today you can open your boards on an iPhone and an iPad.

The app is the same board you know from the browser, adapted to touch and to a smaller screen. Saved boards appear on both devices, so a lesson can start on a computer and finish on a tablet. The app fully supports the Apple Pencil, which significantly improves the user experience.

We are working on the Android version and it will be on Google Play soon.

New ways to share a board

Following your requests, we introduced a second way of working on a board. Until now one person held control and passed it on, and now up to five people can draw at the same time.

The owner picks the mode when creating or editing the board, so both ways of working remain available. With more than five people, passing control is often still more convenient, because nobody writes over someone else"s solution. In pairs or a small group, working in parallel makes more sense.

Changes appear to everyone instantly, along with the other participants" cursors, so you see not only the result but also who is working on what.

Importing PDF files

We added PDF import. A worksheet, a scanned exercise or an exam paper lands on the board as images: each page separately, one below another.

Everything is saved together with the board and comes back in the PDF export, so a student receives one file with the exercise and the solution side by side.

Limits: up to 32 pages per import, up to 40 images on a board and a file of up to 20 MB.

The board adapted for tablets

We rebuilt the board for touch screens. We introduced two-finger pan and zoom, stylus recognition and larger buttons, and we arranged the panels so that they no longer cover the space you draw on.

We paid a lot of attention to how smoothly it all runs. We wanted drawing to feel comfortable on older tablets and on school interactive whiteboards too, because that is where most lessons happen.

As a result the same board works on a computer, on a tablet held in your hand, and on a large screen in a classroom.

Business tools

Alongside the mathematical tools there is now a second set, meant for team work. It includes mind maps, flow diagrams and organisational charts, plus ready-made templates: SWOT, the Business Model Canvas and a Kanban board.

A presentation mode came with it, where you walk through a board like a slideshow, without showing the audience your panels and tools.

A new look

We refreshed the look of the whole of PhiBoard. The landing page, the user panel and the board itself now share one colour scheme, consistent buttons and clearer typography.

The change is not only cosmetic. We reorganised the layout of panels and icons so that the tools you reach for most often are close at hand, while the rarer ones no longer take up screen space.
